RAID storage protects against some disk failures, but it is not a complete backup strategy. Fire, theft, human error, viruses or ransomware can affect connected storage. The studio needed a daily copy separated from the working environment and simple enough to operate without heavy IT overhead.

The studio uses an RDX QuikStor USB 3.0 drive with several 4TB RDX cartridges and image backup software. Daily backup jobs are automated, cartridges are encrypted with AES-256 and removed from the premises according to a rotation plan.
